Come improve our Trail System!

Finally - a work day!  Men! Women! Teens! (Observing Social Distancing,of course.)

We invite you to show up to the rear parking lot of the Community Center at 8:00 AM for a fun day.

Project 1. We plan on cutting an improved trail where the Dopey Trail meets the Powerline Trail near Richard's Crossing.   It will remove a difficult and root-bound hill and make hiking and biking much easier.  This will be fairly easy physical labor.  (If you don't know where these trails are, download the most current map HEREand find them.)

If we have enough volunteers, we will split into 2 or 3 groups and tackle projects like:

Project 2.  spraying for poison.  This involves carrying a backpack 5 gallon sprayer filled with an EPA-approved killing chemical.

Project 3.  Digging sculptured drainage ditches to allow our trails to not erode from rainwater as fast as they are.  This is the physically hardest work, requiring use of a shovel and McLeod to remove small hills to allow water to flow off of the trail.

After work day is complete (about noon), we will provide lunch at the Community Center back lawn.

Age limits:

Persons 16 and over are welcome.

Under 16 are welcome with parent's signed permission.

Please, no one under the age of 12.  We will have special workdays for younger trail Gnomes.

All necessary tools will be provided, including lots of water.

BE SURE TO BRING WORK GLOVES AND WEAR APPROPRIATE FOOTWEAR.

For questions, call (704-941-0116.
